World Travel on a Rocket - Mark Holmes

When Mark lost his business, and then eleven days later his wife died, he made a decision to go on a motorcycle trip around the world. Riding a Triumph Rocket X, the largest capacity motorcycle in the world, was definitely a conversation piece and an ice breaker. And that was good, because he had some messages he wanted to share with people he met along the way. He made connections, new friends and now his life is taking a new direction.

Lithium Batteries, Motorcycle GPS & Riding With Foreign Bikers

Phuc Lam from Shorai Inc, and also an avid motorcyclist, explains lithium batteries in this episode.

Since 2010, Shorai has been the maker of lithium iron phosphate batteries. Shorai LFX batteries are up to 80 percent lighter than equal performance lead acid batteries, which can mean saving anywhere from 2 to 20 pounds, depending what kind of bike you ride. They operate at a higher voltage range and maintain a higher voltage level during cranking, which means your motorcycle starts more quickly.

From the Ace Cafe in London, to where we caught up with her in Kelowna, British Columbia, and beyond, Steph Jeavons is travelling the world solo on a Honda CRF 250L. She had a dream to do an extended trip around the world, and realized that aspiration on March 23, 2014. She's been on the road for 2 years and ridden over 50,000 miles in 40 countries and has plans to travel for another year, across Canada and Africa before returning home to the UK.
