Topics:

Local Impressions:

Sometimes we meet people on our travels who have made an impression on us, particularly locals. We talk about people we have met along the way of our travels that have impressed us, and why we've been impressed.

Time Travel:

How long does it take you before you realize that time is no longer important? When do you stop looking at the calendar and your watch?

How Has Travel Changed You?:

In what ways has travel changed you? Is there a difference between long travel and short travel in making these changes in a person?

Listener’s Question:

My partner is keen to try coming riding with me as a pillion. I will start off making sure she feels comfortable in low speed on good asphalt roads, however all of the interesting places to explore tend to be down dirt roads. While you've covered riding with your partner before in other RAW episodes, I haven't heard you talk about aspects of taking pillions into more dirt or gravel road environments. Do the pillions stand up the same way it's recommended for the rider? Are there any elements of adjustment and confidence that are worth being aware of? How did they learn or train to feel confident in exploring environments less stable than regular roads?
