Hailing from Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, England, in 1999 Ian Coates left on a four month trip on his 1991 Honda Africa Twin motorcycle. 240,000 miles and 14 years later, 70 year old Ian finally returned home. He visited almost every country in the world, travelling solo on his motorcycle with no GPS. Ian doesn’t just drive through as though on a mission, he takes the time to experience the cultures, people and lay of the land by spending time exploring without a map and without watching the clock or calendar.
