Know Before You Go - Top Tips From Experienced Travellers - Part 1
As we look to the future and are planning adventures, short or long, near or far, we asked a select group of experienced travellers if they would share their top planning, packing and travel tips. Secrets, so to speak, that you need to know before you go. This is part ONE of a TWO part series, each featuring different travellers with a vast array of advice. In this episode we hear from motorcycle adventurers Sam Manicom, Michnus and Elsebie Oliver, and Tim and Marisa Notier.
Sam Manicom
Sam is an adventure motorcycle traveler and author, and a regular co-host on our monthly RAW podcast. Quite often we hear from listeners that when planning a trip or if they have any questions about travel, they write to Sam Manicom and ask for his advice, and Sam is always generous with his time and tips, putting lots of thought and care in to his replies. Sam’s pretty busy, but when we asked him for some tips, he kindly shared some fantastic advice with us that we’re passing on to you.
Sam Manicom’s four paperback books take you through the different continents of what turned out to be an eight year motorcycle journey around the world. You can get them either direct from Sam, or via The Book Depository.com with Free Worldwide delivery. You can also find them on Kindle, and all 4 are available as Audio books for download from i-Tunes and Audible. Or you can get MP3 Audio Book CDs direct from Sam on http://www.sam-manicom.com/

Michnus and Elsebie Olivier
Michnus and Elsebie started travelling around the world by motorcycle in 2010 when they took a trip through Africa and they just kept going, never looking back. You’ve probably heard them on ARR before as they have regaled us with their travel stories and always have great tips and advice to share with us. Once again we caught up with them in Sucre, Bolivia and they graciously spared some time to chat with Jim and pass on some more tips that you need to know before you go.
